Dr. Bertin Dembele

Dr. DEMBELE holds major positions of responsibility in Bamako. Since 2019, he has been Head of the Plastic and Oncological Surgery Department and a Plastic Surgeon and Burnologist at the Dermatology Hospital of Bamako. He is also a Research Master (since November 2023) and a member of the hospital’s medical establishment committee. Previously, he was Head of Surgery Department at the National Center for Support in the Fight Against Disease (CNAM) starting in 2018. In parallel with his clinical duties, he has been a Lecturer at the National Institute for Training in Health Sciences (INFSS) since 2021. Humanitarian Commitment and Management of Health Crises Dr. DEMBELE's commitment to public health is notable, especially during major health crises. He served as a Supervisor Trainer for Caritas during the Ebola pandemic in 2015 in the Sikasso region. More recently, during the Covid-19 pandemic, he was the Team Leader for the management of COVID-19 patients at the Dermatology Hospital of Bamako in March 2020. His humanitarian dedication is also reflected in 14 humanitarian plastic surgery missions , including 6 international ones. Research Contributions and Language Proficiency Dr. DEMBELE is an active contributor to scientific research, with 34 scientific publications , including 22 of useful rank. His skills are supported by excellent language proficiency. He speaks and writes Very well in both French and Spanish. He is also functional in English (Fairly well) and speaks Bambara well
